Make a breakup playlist for my trip through Colorado – coming close to a Zen Monastery, sand dunes and Healing Waters.

Trying to add on second leg of journey. Denver to Des Moines for 15 year college reunion.

Wednesday
I now have solid plans in place. I leave on Thursday night after work – driving up to Valley View Hot Springs, stopping at Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve for a hike. I’m sleeping on a bunk bed (I chose the bottom) then moving into a cabin for Friday. The Hot Springs don’t have lighting at night so it’s recommended to have a headlamp or flashlight. Check.

Saturday will be a photographic exploration of Crestone, CO then on up to Ft. Collins for Saturday night. Leif is working at a new cider bar there. We stay the night at his aunts then leave for Boise on Sunday morning. Camping on Sunday night  - for which I need a sleeping pad and bag – either at Great Teton National Park or further west into Idaho which Leif claims is the most beautiful place in the world, or something like that.

Then Boise. Staying with friends. Not sure what to expect there, completely new terrain and experience.

I’m packing to not return to New Mexico before I fly out of Denver on Sunday for a week in Iowa for my college reunion. Back to Denver then a drive home to El Prado where my new life begins. I walk into an empty home – not of memories or furniture, but people.

Trying to formulate a new business idea for Big Image as well as drawing poster and cover design for this year’s RANT festival. A lot hangs on the business proposal – otherwise it looks like I may embedded in Taos for another 6 months.

The plan is to forget. It’s the end of the love story. The love story begins.

Is this a metaphor for my life?

Formative work (1994-2012). Almost all of these pieces (including many more prints) are stored in Pittsburgh. I’m really searching for a way to combine printed textiles, pattern and decay with abstraction AND representation, and I want to work on a large scale.

Looks like bad storms went through – don’t know what to expect in the aftermath. I’ve had pretty good luck with trips in the past.

Well Pittsburgh, here I come!
